Well, I’ve been in Olympia, the capital city of Washington State for 12 days now preparing for a new political battle to stop a bill that could shut down all pregnancy resource centers and medical clinics in Washington State.
This is my third time participating in this kind of political battle. The first time was in 2007 when an anti-pregnancy center bill was moving swiftly through the political process in the Oregon legislature.
The second time was last year when an anti-pregnancy center bill was dropped in the Senate Health and Long Term Care Committee in Washington State.
And now, I am back in Olympia again for the 2011 legislative session dealing with the worse anti-pregnancy center bill ever launched against life-affirming pregnancy resource centers and medical clinics. And it is not looking good for pregnancy centers.
But I learned during the past political battles that God loves it when His people are between a rock and a hard place. He loves it when there appears to be no hope. He loves to make the impossible possible.
So, although all evidence indicates that it is impossible to stop this new anti-pregnancy center bill in Washington State, I have this growing excitement and anticipation to see what God is going to do this time. The odds are against us. We don’t have enough votes to stop this bill that will shut down pregnancy centers in Washington State.
But something deep inside my spirit is whispering…God loves this. Just wait and see what He will do.
